Walking though it's not as fun but you burn more by walking than you do bike riding unless you want to increase your bike riding time by a lot.

I think the tredmill works better then the bike cause you don't sit on your butt while work out.

I think walking would be a better exercise.

I guess it depends on your knees.
I would say any exercise is good exercise.

There are so many variables that each person would need to evaluate his/her environment, physical need, and availability of equipment as well as preference.  If you are asking which is the most healthy option, probably either of the walking choices would be better overall, as you can swing your arms while walking to promote upper limb workout.  The stationary bicycle might provide a bit more front thigh muscle strengthening but would do little for the upper body unless it has a feature that includes motion in the handle bars.

The best exercise is the one you're going to do. I hate walking on the treadmill so I wouldn't be very dedicated to sticking with it. I love being outside and go on regular walks for both exercise and pleasure.

Good point!  One thing that helps with walking on the treadmill is watching a suspenseful television program--it also has the tendency to get you to move faster as the suspense builds.  If a TV is not close by, maybe you could watch something on a more portable device while exercising; it really makes the time seem to go by faster.

Walking outside in the fresh air is wonderful - if you can keep up a steady pace without dealing with traffic etc.  I always end up stopping and talking to people I know.

Ultimately - the best exercise is one you enjoy and will DO regularly.

My considered opinion is that you get fresh air and sunshine when you walk outside which are added benefits. You might see some neat things when you're outside walking too or meet a friend you can stop and talk with.  :monkey:

You can change it up by walking and then doing short bursts of running to intensify your workout. Do you what you like, though. When you stop moving, you die.

walking by far is the exercise I prefer to do. Walking is far more better for you than a stationary bike or a treadmill.

I would prefer to walk outside, but due to weather, I'd use the treadmill. I would like to do the bike also, but my rear end goes numb from the seat! :(

Jogging on the treadmill is better exercise.
