All you can do is pray and believe that a divine intervention will come through for them. The sad thing about grown folks is you can not make them do anything they do not want to. Sometimes reverse phys :peace:cology works as well, just stop persuading them and let the prayers do the work. :peace:

I have a friend who has been told if he doesn't quit drinking alcohol, he will not be on this earth much longer. He is depressed, but there are things he could do to prevent his predicament from getting worse but you and I both know that if he's not happy with himself and his life then no one else can provide the life that he will be happy with.

It's their life and it is what they want to make of it.  You can pray til you turn purple but it won't change a thing.

My ex was a drug addict.  He kept trying to get that first high, which is the thing I have heard that drug addicts crave.  I would buy things and he would sell them for little or nothing.  He became worse when his mother unexpectedly died of a heart attack after having a stroke.  He tried to join her by taking 3 nerve pills and 5 sleeping pills; he slept for nearly a week.  Then he broke out with these huge boils.  The first boil he went to the hospital; the next few series of boils he sat around at home and allowed them to burst.  You have never smelled anything in this world that smelled worse.  I thought he was going to lose his leg because he sat around and, by the time he went to the hospital, the doctor told me that, when they operated, the infection was not yellow or green, but brown.  The surgeons had to literally dig the infection out of his leg to save it.  He had abused his body so much that, when it was time to get married, my blood was taken from my arm and his blood was taken from his neck because they could not find them in his arm.  I got to the point after awhile I stopped even caring what happened to him and walked away from that in August 2000.  I got a pro se divorce in September 2011 because nobody has seen him in years.  That is my experience and I am glad I never got the nerve to do drugs.  My cousin died in 2004, and everyone thought she had died from an overdose.  Her body was exhumed and it was discovered she was poisoned because some woman was mad at her for sleeping with her husband.  I am sharing my experience.  I am ending it with the fact that it is his or her life; you can talk until you are blue in the face, you can pray that they get healed, but the decision to get clean is with him or her. :male: :female: :male: :bad:

Sometimes Praying is not enough. It sounds harsh but sometimes a person has to hit their rock bottom before they realize they can climb to the top. Hopefuly they will turn around.

Really there's nothing you can do after speaking with them several times.  They must be ready to change him or herself.  I wish the best for your friend.
