Hey Anggie! I know you are really excited about your wedding and want your wedding to be picture perfect[ I don't blame you i want the same thing for my wedding] But in cases like this i really would not recommend post poning a surgery like this because i am afraid of what might happen to you and you end up in the hospital 10x worse than what you initially went in there for.. Anything could go wrong.. and that's not something you want to take lightly.. I would at least consider moving your wedding date because your health is a little more important.Ok.. i lied alot more important.. but i really hope you don't hurt yourself worse because that wouldn't be a good thing to go through and i would not wish that pain on anyone.

Awww bummer news for sure.  I had a past family member injure her knee about a week before her wedding.  She pulled through the big day but was unable to dance and do much of the things she would normally do.  I don't believe she needed surgery... just time to let it reduce swelling and such - she too refused that and said heck no - the show must go on.  Just take it easy and enjoy your big day.  Be careful.

Ask the doctor if that's OK, maybe put a brace on it until later. I had two surgeries this year and it sucks.

So sorry to hear that you need surgery. Have you discussed your problem with the doctor? He would be the one who could tell you if it is safe for you to wait till after the wedding or if you need to put your health first and go for the surgery right away. Doctors will usually give good advise.

I don't know what exactly is wrong with your knee but if you take it easy on that leg and really baby it you might be able to wait until after your wedding.  Use a walker or when you are grocery shopping use the wheel chair I know it feels like you shouldn't and people may look at you funny but do it anyways the less stress on your bad leg or knee the better.  I finally started using a wheel chair when I shop because I have nerve damage in my legs and chronic pain and disks problems in my back so I can't stand or walk for a long time.  I almost past out at Wal-Mart because I was standing to long and when I got to my son he hurried to get me a wheel chair or I would of ended up on the floor.

Well, I don't know exactly what kind of surgery your physician is talking about but, I can tell you if it's Arthroscopic surgery, you'll be walking the same day.

So sorry to hear about the surgery you going to have. Ask the Dr. if there is a good reason to do the surgery sooner, work with them to see which is better.

Congratulations on your wedding.

I'm with you, it's your special day, as long as you're mobile and you don't overdue it on the dance floor, another week shouldn't hurt the results.  Try to stay off it until then so you don't damage it further.  :star:

I have a "bad" knee and I get good results from a magnetic knee brace.  They're not expensive and increase healing blood flow to the knee.

Hi,
I am sorry about that.  Have you thought about getting a second opinion?  I will keep you in my prayers.

Wedding planning by itself can be stressful, but toss in a surgery....oh my. I hope things turn out for the best for you. I hope that you have a serious talk with your doctor about your options before postponing your surgery to make sure you are not at any serious risk. Best wishes for a loving marriage and speedy recovery! :rose:

If you wait until after the wedding,  make sure your married status does not change your medical insurance benefits-- seems like there are a lot of loopholes in some insurance policies.
