i think i was 16 when i went a real date, but
his mom drove. so um, maybe that doesn't count  


i'm assuming the american youth stopped going
on real dates a long time ago. what's the use of a date
if you're gonna be in the back seat by the time its over?

now a days, most parents just let ya jump in the car with whoever
and totally believe the lies about being at the movies.
ain't it great?

I went on my first date in 8th grade. My mom drove us the mall so we could see a movie. We ended up talking through the entire movie and held hands. It was pretty sweet and innocent. We're still really great friends actually.

I think plenty of the "american youth" still go on dates.  Sure, there are kids who are just hooking up, but many times that is because many times people don't want to date them after they stated behaving that way, they just want to take advantage of the hooking up.  But I think it's a lot more common for young people to go to dinner, the movies, sporting events, etc. as couples than to just randomly hook up - it's the media that is saying it's the other way around.

I went on my first date when I was 15 I think, maybe 16 - it was sophomore year.  We went to a movie with another couple, and we dated for 3 years after that.

I don't remember my first date really, but the earliest one I remember is when I was 16. It was to the movies with my now hubby. My mom, who didn't know about it, dropped off me and my sister and he had his brother along.

It wasn't exactly a date but I did spend time with a guy who liked me and I kind of liked him too. We weren't alone though because we were on a family trip to the movies and we were sitting in the back seat of the car with my brother, this guy's brother, and my two step brothers. I think I was 15 or 16. Yeah, pretty sweet "date" if I do say so myself... not really... nothing ever became of it though.
