Thanksgiving break
« on: November 22, 2013, 06:54:28 am »
So today is the last day of school for a week and both of my girls are going to my parents house without us for at least half the week. My 18 year old has so many plans I don't know how she hopes to accomplish them all. She and her cousin want to go see the new Hunger Games movie. Then the boy she is seeing lives there too and she wants to spend time with him since the only time they see each other is when she goes there,( my parents are two hours away from us.) He is my nephews best friend and that is how they met. None of them have their liscenes yet only permits so that means my parents or sister-in law driving them around. But my daughter has also said that she would like to be the one to do Thanksgiving dinner. Never has even cooked a turkey so this is going to be an experance.
Both she and her younger sister take Choir at school, the little one at the middle school and the older one at the high school, so they are both working on learning their songs for their Christmas concerts. And since we are Jewish and they are the only ones in their schools that is, as far as we know, they are having to teach the proper way to do the Jewish songs. And since Hanukkah falls at Thanksgiving this year( first time in many, many years and the next time this is to happen  is 2060 something) they have been saying "Happy Thanksgivakah to their teachers and even some friends. A lot of people are looking at them like they are weird but they are just repeating what they've heard. It has even been said on TV on one of the shows. (Lets see who out there can say which.)
So let me end this by wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and Those of you who are Jewish or even just do Hanukkah a Happy and Peaceful Hanukkah.

For my son it is 5 days 25-29. Umm yay! I will still have him do his pre algebra and basic geometry math along with his history project no more than 500 words including his story board. Wow for a 5th grader I am surprised he still likes school. LOL  ;) :D

Okay since nobody has taken a guess as to which shows have said "Thanksgivukkah" I'll go ahead and say: The Chew did it today preparing sings for both Thanksgiving and Hanukkah. But I believe the Big Bang has also used the term.
And since I probably won't get a chance to log back on till after the holiday weekend: Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

I had a whole week off. I just had a small dinner with my husband, daughter and my mother. All of the others went to visit my brother in James town. It was a nice day.  :)
