I am a Christian and I say Merry Christmas.  I also say Happy Holidays sometimes if someone has said that to me.  I think this controversy has gotten to be very out of date as it seems to come up every year for no particular reason.  I know that I heard some years ago that some stores told their associates to say Happy Holidays to customers so some people would not be offended.  I'm not even sure how many stores did that.  However, in the last few years, I have not heard that, and I have heard store employees say both, seemingly as their own personal preference.

I think political correctness has crowded out common sense.  Where did some people leave their brains?

I am so happy that so many Fusion Cashers have guts enough to say Merry Christmas.  :highfive:

It's nice to know that some folks know the reason for the season.

Neither, because I personally don't celebrate any holidays, but if I did, I would be PC about it and say H.H. Some people are Jewish, you know. It's rude to assume Giftmas is the only game in town.

??? Why is this? Would you be offended if someone said Happy Hanukkah to you? Being PC is just not standing up for your beliefs.

There is nothing offensive about saying Merry Christmas, whether or not you're a Christian. No one should be ashamed to celebrate in their own way.

If I know the folks I say Merry Christmas, if I don't I say Happy Holidays.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas.    I do live in America.  The 1st Amendment guarantees me the freedom of RELIGION, SPEECH, and the press and grants the right to petition for redress and to assemble peacefully.

So I have the right to express my beliefs and use speech that is befitting to ME.

If I'm talking to Jewish person, I would say "Happy Holidays" out of respect, but I'm Christian and otherwise say "Merry Christmas."

I say Merry Christmas and will also say that.  Everyone needs to remember to put Christ back in Christmas.  It is his birthday that we are celebrating at least this is the way I feel.   I'm sorry others don't feel this way.
