Why is it so hard to find the Unread Posts now. Isn't this like the whole point in doing this. You would think

Unread replies is one of the links at the top on the forum . I don't think that's all that difficult to find

Unread Replies and Unread Posts are two different things. Replies are topics that you posted in, Posts are topics that are new since you were last on the board.

Unread Replies is in the top green header bar along the top of any forum page.

Unread Posts is only on the main forum page http://www.fusioncash.net/forum.php. It's in the light green bar on the right, underneath the ad.

I'm glad you pointed that out. I have never paid that close attention to the links above.  I will have to check these out closer.  I usually just go to the different discussion boards and look for something I haven't seen before.
