trouble waking up
« on: January 20, 2014, 07:16:47 am »
I hate those days I didn't get much sleep and I have to wake up and snap out of that drowsy , sleepiness and wanting to pass back out but I can't because I have to make an important phone call but I don't want to sound tired on the phone.

It always helps me if I splash cold water on my face. And black coffee, of course, but the cold water is rather jarring. :)

I'm retired and so I can sleep in most days if I want to.  Today, however is ML King day and the schools are closed here so I have my 2 youngest grandkids with me today as their parents have to work.  It was hard for me to get up too but since I don't have to do it too often I try not to complain.  Summers are rough when the kids are out of school for such a long time lol

Yeah I know how you feel, luckily I only have to wake up early on Sundays so I can be at work by 9 AM.

Unless I have a fun day planned, I don't like to get out of bed. It is so hard to get up in the mornings going into work.
If it's a cold day it takes me a little longer to get myself together. Coffee definitely helps, but it can become quite
addictive.

I'm a night person and mornings don't come easy.   :silly:

If I have to take the train to Albuquerque I have to take the dial-a-ride bus and they pick me up at 6:45 am for the 8:04 train.  (There is no mid-day train.)  I usually do all my preparations the night before, including printing out an itinerary with my Albuquerque bus times on it.  I have a check list of things to do the day before.  I set out everything I need, including my clothes.  Then I can sleep later and throw myself together in a half hour before running out the door with a warm burrito to eat on the train.  It's not foolproof, I rarely get enough sleep, but it's so much easier to cope with anything unexpected.  8)

What I really hate though is getting calls I have to take, before I'm even up, much less truly awake.  It's those people who give me the hardest time about not being a morning person.   :angry7:

I know exactly how you feel - happens to me too.  Only thing that bothers me is why does it have to happen on the days that I can't sleep late darn it!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have trouble waking up unless I have 3-4 hours of sleep....My brother on the other hand has trouble waking up and it usually comes to me have to wake him up because his alarm clocks are going off like crazy

I hate those days too...wanting to go back to bed for a few more moments but can't. What I usually do it take a showER. oNCE that hot water hits me, it slowly makes me more alert. You can even try coffee, that works for some people.
