Topic: Biding Your Time (Waiting for Pages to Load) (Read 1462 times)

I was gonna say 'Your Computer Ought to Play the Climactic Sequence from HACKERS while It Computes the Next WebPage! (so you can appreciate the kind of struggle your computer goes through),' but even THAT gets boring, and you need "something to do" while you wait for the next page's content to load.

Me, I LIKE to read (the newspaper, a book I'm reading, the Bible, crosswords or SUDOKU) while I wait; but I DON'T LIKE to turn the lights on. So--until the sun is bright enough--I'll usually play one of my PC's solitaire-games.

What do you do while you wait for the next page to load?

It doesn't take that long for pages to load for me to find something else to do

Haven't you seen the TRANSFORMERS-movies (prequel--I think--to the TERMINATOR-movies)? Don't you worry about what will happen when SkyNet finds the All-Spark? When all your technology comes alive and wants to exterminate you? (like the Daleks in DOCTOR WHO)? teeheehee

The pages here don't seem to take very long to load for me. Could it be a problem with your computer or connection speed?

Probably. I have a connection from *bleep* Communications (who claim 'lightning fast speed'), but one of their techs tested 'the connection' and says it's probably my "old" hardware (seems like it's 9-or-10 YEARS OLD NOW

That, and all the 'pictures' I have on my hard-drive ...

I usually go back and forth between multiple things that I'm doing, and have a game going on Facebook. I swear though, as much multi-tasking as I do I never seem to get anything done. $:-\$
