We have four kids.....all are out of the house now. Oldest is 30, then 27, 21, 19.
so for all of you with little ones....enjoy them!!! Time really does go by fast.
We have TONS of great memories and love to retell stories of all the fun things we did as a family when they were young.
Also it is a good idea to start some family traditions...doesn't have to be big or expensive.
Ideas: For birthday parties we set up a "spider web". Easy and so much fun---the kids still think I should set it up for them --even if they are 19!
How? Get different colors of yarn (a different color for each child who will do the game). Tie a small weight of some kind (a washer or nut or paperclip) to the loose end. Now crisscross each yarn across the room, over and under and around furniture or whatever is in the room; By the time you get 5-6 different colors of yarn crisscrossed back and forth every which way across the room, you will have created a HUGE spider web! Be sure you end up at the entrance to the room with the other end of the yarn (you decide how long your yarn will be). This end I have tied to a empty paper towel tube (can use a stick or ruler). Now each child will take their paper towel tube and wind up the their color of yarn. It is best if they are stocking footed because they have to step over and crawl under the other kids' yarns as they wind up their yarn.
It takes some kids a little bit to get the hang of winding up their yarn, but they all have fun.
We do it every year.
Enjoy those Kids!
