NFL considering 43-yard extra point
« on: March 04, 2014, 07:20:57 pm »
Read an article about this - the possibility of moving the extra point to the 25 instead of the 2 yard line, to make the PAT a little more challenging (NFL claiming that they are too easy...). Thoughts?

I didn't hear about moving it back to the 25,but they are right about the extra point being too easy. Why bother with it ar all?The NFL should make the touchdown worth 7 points, eliminate the extra point altogether, and go directly to the kickoff.

I can see that they'd say that the PAT is too easy as it is now... But would that also mean that the 2-point conversion would also get pushed back to the 25 as well? That would make the 2-point too difficult. I guess the team would have to declare whether they plan to kick or go for the 2-point, and they'd set the ball accordingly. However that would eliminate a fake PAT to go for the 2, unless they tried doing the fake from the 25. Actually the more I think about this, the more I'm opposed to it. Even though it's pretty easy now, it still isn't a guarantee, and moving the ball back would change a lot of how the game is played.

the nfl is struggling, there are making constent rule changes which shows that they are amateur, the games seem amateur too, it isnt as good as the terry bradshaw days, the players have attitudes, it s ruff

After reading the above, I am totally opposed to moving it back.  It would take away from the game immensely.
