Hahaha. I do that all the time especially in the fresh produce aisle.  I assume the older stuff is in front and the fresher food is in the back.  I'm also deeply afraid of germs.

We almost always take from the back especially when it comes to milk and eggs. Canned good often the freshest is at the front because the stockers don't take the time to rotate.

I almost never take things from the back of the shelves.  I check out fresh things but don't deliberately go to the back.  I go by what they look like.

No.  I take my items from the front of the aisle.  My hubby is taller than I am, so I take items that are low to me.

Sometimes I do that, but I also consider how the product looks. The fresh fruit and such I tend to get from the back because small children might have put their mouths on the food.

I frequently take items from the back of the shelf.  However, now I'm thinking, with everyone taking things from the back, what is now in the front?     I always check things that are dated for the best date.

I ALWAYS do that!  The reason why is that the FRESHEST stuff is put in the BACK!

No I don't reach to the back of the canned goods.  I hadn't given it that much thought.

I check the date on the milk cartons and such.   In the produce, I look for the freshest items.

I totally do this with my diary purchases, such as greek yogurt, eggs, and milk.
I check the dates on everything, even in the frozen section. Why not get the freshest of the fresh!
