Yes I do the same thing. I don't worry so much about clothing but definitely in the dairy and refrigerated sections of the supermarket, I shove my hand to the back to see if I can find a later expiration date than the one on the front. If I can't, I still buy the one at the back for the simple reason that in my mind, fewer hands have touched the container. Sometimes when there is only one of a product left on the shelf, I just don't buy it because this is the one that everybody else also left behind. Is it all in the mind?

LOL, I worked retail for years, and I too try to take from the back of the shelf, I have also been known to pull product to the front of the shelf so it looks full!  Too funny, I hadn't really thought too much about it until you posted this.

Yes...i also check exp dates.Especially on the perishables.I am a real fuss-pot when it comes to food.I also hate it when my food is supposed to be hot <soup> and its NOT!!!

I always take the item in the front and then I move the next one to the front to "face up" the shelf.  I worked in a health shop at one time so I have a tendency to make the shelf look like it was just stocked.

Sometimes I do that, especially with diary products. But, most of the time, I just check the dates on everything.

That's funny, I like to take things from the back of the shelf too.. sometimes the expiration dates are longer on the stuff on the back of the shelves.

Haha yes! i feel like the hidden ones are the "untouched" ones
