When my phone rings, I am usually in the other room so I hurry up to see who it is.  If it is someone I want to talk with, I answer, otherwise it goes to the answering machine.

I very rarely even answer my phone anymore, I mainly use it to call out. I get so many telemarketers that its ridiculous. One in particular, that change their number every time they call. I swear they go buy boxes and boxes of cheap phones, use them till the minutes run out, and nothing I can do about blocking them

I just check the caller ID to see who's calling. If it's a number I don't know, I don't pick up and I let it go to voicemail.

Panic.  For the past year I was always fearful of the phone ringing, always expecting it to be something wrong with my mother.  She passed away in February and I haven't gotten past that feeling of fear.

I check the caller ID and if I don't recognize the number I don't answer it.

I get mad when I get spam calls, but otherwise it's exciting.

I too am not a phone person. When the phone rings, I sometimes will not bother to move towards it and other times I do to look at the caller ID. I won't answer it if I don't know the number, or its someone I don't want to speak to.

I always try to answer the phone, even if I do not know the number.  My phone is my personal and work phone, so I never know if it could be a client calling me.  The only time I don't answer is if my kids are screaming and crying.  The phone call can wait then. :)

I generally answer my phone when it rings.  It is strange that you should ask this question.  My co-worker called me and said that my number was given to her by a parent where she works.  In order to verify the fact that the number belonged to me, she had someone call me.  I answered, and when the lady asked my name, I told her who I was, and she put my co-worker on the phone.  I have owned this number for the past 11 months, and I think it is rather stupid that you refuse to change your number and people call me regarding your business, which is none of my business.  The number is no longer yours.  I gave a cousin of mine my phone number, and the court system called me about her.  I told them I didn't know anyone with that name (it was an alias) and the same woman called my cellphone.  I changed my number because I didn't need that kind of problem.  The only other time I get annoyed is when my husband calls me back to back.   :rainbow:

They have rotating numbers as part of their service plan.  That is why the same telemarketers can get through blocks.  Their phones don't change, their number rotates out.

Most of the time,   unless it is someone I know I just ignore it.  The answer machine can get it.  I just don't want to drop everything for a reminder that I have an appointment in a few days or a prescription I get every month is ready.
