I'm pretty sure they track what you look at, because I've gone through phases where I look at shoes, then I see ads for shoes. Or I look at those diamond candles, then I see ads for those.
It all depends on what I've been looking at as to what ads I see on Facebook or other websites.
Kinda creepy...not so sure I like it to be honest.

This is a major reason why Facebook creeped me out for the last time   I was talking to a friend on email about something specific & unique & only once.  The next thing on Facebook was all the ads running down the right side all had to do with the topic we were discussing on that email chat.    They are monitoring even what you are chatting to friends about on email.    Nothing is safe & Big brother is everywhere.

Yep I noticed awhile back everything  I looked at would show up the next day and sometimes for weeks will occasionally see something I've looked at and yes I bet that would include rat poison.  Its something else !

Not surprising.  A number of companies including Google snoop on your activity. In the recent news they admitted on intentionally scanning your e-mail (if you have their Gmail service) to target you ads based on terms you use and decided to cover themselves more by applying this into their terms of service. I'm a little bugged by this, but I will still not change the majority of what I do.

I always search for bargains on the computer. When you get an idea about the price range and location, that is when you go shop at the stores. I have found this very useful in saving gas and time. Good Luck!

Well.. Not really the computer.. Everything you Search Gets Pushed as an ad. That is why when you begin searching for something the next thing you know you will find deal's or ads about it. Google is one of the most known search engines for doing that also they go through your email or something.. I'm pretty sure it's not just google but you know.. That's the internet for you.. It could be alot worse i guess..

Yeah I notice that when I search for something specific then I start getting ads for that item. Gets a little weird. It's like someone is always watching/tracking you.

Tracking cookies is how that occurs. I notice the same thing. Always clear your browser. :)

You are exactly right.  That is why I am repeatedly going into my browser and deleting history and cookies and running AVG scans over and over.  I have seen it, too.  It's also why I am very picky and very nervous about anyone else using my computer or my laptop.
