Your local hospital might offer a service where they recommend various doctors for various specialties. I know mine does. Just call the main number and ask.

Word of mouth from friends nearby or the internet.... The internet is primarily my source of information (almost 85% of it)

*You can look in the yellow pages.
*Do a Google search for "Doctors in "your hometown""
*If you have friends in the area or family ask them.
*Ask co-workers.
*Ask neighbors.
*Drive thru down town area or go by pharmacy and ask them for recommendations.  Then Google their names.
*Check with your local Chamber of Commerce

Word of Mouth is okay but you have to remember that you cannot believe everything you hear so don't write someone off because of one negative thing.

I would check with neighbors and coworkers.  Go to your local hospital website, they might have a list of doctors affiliated with the hospital.  If they do, you can click on each doctor and find out where they went to school, how long they practiced, etc.  I know it's hard but it's worth it when you find the right one.  Good luck!

Good luck in your search, when I recently switched insurance plans, it took a long time to get accurate provider information-then selecting one that was somewhat close to my home. It is indeed a process.
