What remedies do you suggest are at best for reducing them?

Depends on what is causing it.
Increase your protein intake if it is due from exercising.
Motrin is good, but too much over too long a period of time wrecks havoc on your kidneys.

Heat does wonders, I sleep with a heating pad, my pain is usually from exercise & it usually helps tons.   Also what another person mentioned, keep moving or you'll cramp up.

Massage helps a lot as well.

Sometimes I take a hot bath or take Tylenol.  I hurt all the time.  Nothing seems to help.  So basically I suffer.  :(

Another vote for blackstrap molasses. It is really good stuff. If it's from exercise, wearing compression gear during the workout works too.

It depends on the complexity of the ache.  I've torn muscles before and ended up in therapy over them so starting with the basics and working my way up from worst case scenario. Potassium (banana's) lot's of water to flush out toxin build up, warm epson salt baths.  Whirlpool jets if available.  Ibuprofen. Keep the area in motion.  Starting slow and limited and building from there with whats tolerable.  Massage.  Avoid cool to warm temperatures.  Avoid abrupt movement and motion.  Allow muscles to relax and recover.

I love sitting in a hot bath if it's just a general ache from say...exercising or just being stiff from working all day.
I've never had any pain more severe than that though.

I use Warrior Mist.
I have used various other pain remedies over the years.
I found out about Warrior Mist.
It is by far the best.
It is a spray gel made from natural ingredients.

I like to use arnica seems to work really well. Arnica comes in a cream or small pills you dissolve under your tongue. Also started using Turmeric  I like it when I remember to take it.. Epson salt hot baths are good too. The best is massage therapy but I cant afford right now.

Welcome Lepord.  I'm with you.  Arnica is great for muscle aches and bruises.  A hot bath and a good sleep help a lot too.  I'm still trying to work turmeric into my day-to-day diet and detox with epson salts more often.

Potassium helps me sometimes especially for muscle cramps in my legs.  I'd like to try blackstrap molasses as I've not heard of that helping but I thought it didn't taste very good.

A hot bath followed with rest always works for me when I have muscle aches. Prevention can sometimes be the key to those nasty muscle aches we all may experience. In my last job, they had a great program where each department did warm-up exercises, mostly stretching movements, before we went to work and their annual injury reports were always better than average.

I use a foam roller when I have muscular aches, they are about 10 to 20 bucks. I love just laying on them and rolling back and forth on my upper back and quads. They come in big and smaller sizes. Those stick on heat things work decently for me when I've strained something.

first dont do strenuous excersize, thats how you got sore muscles in the first place, relax and dont move too much, in a day or two it should clear up
