Whatever I do to my hair it grabs it and shakes.  I can't even use conditioner because my hair will do NOTHING afterwards -
So a few years ago, actually about 20, my hairdresser suggested a perm - for the body adding.  I said - oh no - I'll be a frizz ball. (remembering the Toni and Tonettes of years ago).  She said - the perms are so different now - you'll just have a slight wave but more body.

Silly me I said okay let's give it a try.  Well you know by now what happened don't you?  Frizz Ball!!  I couldn't wait for it to grow out and this time NEVER AGAIN.

LOL. LOL. I'm so sorry, minervaspirit, but that post really made me laugh. I'm so sorry you were misled by your hair stylist. She probably had no idea she'd muck up your hair. 

Personally, I think you're better off not putting those chemicals on your scalp. There are lots of hair products out there that can help you style your hair. Good luck on your journey through experimentation. It's a rough and rocky road. 

BTW, have you seen the Aussie videos on FC? They are a hoot. I know I have done all those things. "Vanity of vanities; all is vanity."

I used to do perms all the time but haven't had one in several years.  It doesn't much matter what I do with my hair as it's so fine it doesn't look good anyway.
