You should google the history of captchas. It's actually pretty interesting. Before marketers used them as ads, it was actually part of a project to decode old text from a book, magazine, etc.

They even have a name for all those crazy word puzzles. It's called Inglip.

I'm afraid to ask what that stands for!

It's not an abbreviation.  Just a randomly generated word that became the start of Internet folklore:

from Google:
"Inglip is an Internet folklore based on the eponymous rage comic character who can communicate with mythical acolytes known as Gropagas through the medium of CAPTCHA images. Due to its reliance on randomly generated words for narrative context, the subject matter of Inglip comics may range from simple one-way commands and instructions to more obscure and highly improvised dialogues based on made-up English words."

There's more, just google it -- but it all seems llike gobblegook to me.

The captcha is meant to separate humans from whatever else is on the planet.  Some of them are meant to be simple, and some of them are complicated.  I have never had a problem with captchas unless they are scrambled like eggs.   :highfive: :rainbow: :rose:

:) Don't know about "Captcha" but I figured "CLOUD" stands for "Can't Locate My Uploaded Data".  :)

Captcha's are just for making sure you're not a bot.

That's pretty funny, but it should probably be "Can't Locate Our Uploaded Data".  ;D
