The man knowing that the child wasn't his was prosecuted by people as mean and maniacal. then a DNA test later the man was proven to be not the father.
it really dose not have to be you in person or even just an account its the ridicule that some people don't understand
and for this very reason why theres such thing called a confession box (or boths)
Confession box - that's Catholic - and that's so the priest can "forgive your sins" which he doesn't have the right to do, show me where in the Bible it says that.  God and God alone can forgive sins.

You're correct in that only God can forgive a person's sins. Which is why you're also wrong in saying that Catholic priests forgive your sins. The priests are there to listen to your confession and aid you in your reconciliation process, they may pose tasks for you to help make amends (ie tell the truth to the person you lied to), and perhaps help you to determine the root of your sin. Essentially they are there to "hold up God's mirror" as your metaphor goes. But they don't actually do the forgiving. It is like when a Catholic prays to a cross... They are not actually praying to the physical object, but rather the crucifix is used to aid a person to be mindful of how Jesus died for us.

I also disagree that being an unbeliever automatically means that you're bound to hell... When Jesus said "the only way to the Father is through me" doesn't mean that a person has to believe in the divinity of Jesus, that he died for our sins, etc. Rather the statement is more that Jesus exemplified the way we are to live, and to gain entry into heaven is to live in a similar fashion. So even though djohnson43 is Jewish (and hence doesn't believe in the divinity of Jesus), they may still go to heaven by loving their fellow man, respecting God's creation, not rushing to judgement, etc. Likewise a person living their entire life in the hinterlands of China that never read the Bible much less even heard of a person named Jesus might also still go to heaven were they to try to live a good life.

I haven't been to a Catholic church very many times, but the most recent time I have gone the priest, can't remember his exact words, said he forgives our sins (because God gave him that authority).

Have you read John 3:5?  Jesus specifically says to Nicodemus, "Truly, Truly I say to you, unless one is born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."  This is right after He is talking to Nicodemus about being born again - born again spiritually.  Just like we had nothing to do with our physical birth, we have nothing to do with our spiritual birth - it is all God.

Isaiah 64:6 ..all our righteous deeds are like filthy garments..

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

While I am in support of your desire, I think your style is less than effective.  How about a little "speak the truth in love."

Well everything I just said was from the Bible or about what the Bible says so if you have an issue with it, I respectably say that's an issue you have with God, not me.

And you have to make people realize that they're sinners.  Not many think they are, most think they are pretty good people.  You have to allow them to look at themselves in God's eyes, aka as sinners, and one way to do that is to have them see how that stack up next to the 10 commandments.  If I say, hey, Jesus died for your sins, and they don't think they're sinners, they might think.."well wait a minute, I've done nothing wrong and therefore do not need a Savior."  You see?  That's like the cops arresting you without saying a word.. you would probably be really confused, and angry.  But if they arrested you and said, "hey, your being taken to jail for (whatever, unpaid tickets, I don't know..)" it would make more sense to you.
