Walmart to Go!
« on: June 25, 2014, 11:31:55 pm »
Yesterday, when I was able to take one of the commercial surveys, I found out about Walmart to Go!  Did anyone else see the ad?  What a great service.  I understand that it is only in test markets at the moment, but once it reaches cities all over the country, we can do our grocery shopping with Walmart online and have the order delivered to our front doors, even if we live in an apartment complex.  A small fee is involved, but delivery people aren't allowed to accept tips.  Another option is to pick your order up at your local Walmart right at the curb.  That service will be free.  What a great convenience for people who aren't able to take themselves to the grocery store.

Walmart to Go! sounds like a great idea.  Many people are doing their shopping online.

I don't have a Walmart in my town, but I can imagine people doing their grocery shopping during their lunch break and having it ready to pick up curbside on their way home.

The delivery option sounds great for people who cannot get out on their own.

Sounds like it will be a flop like so many that have tried this before.

Sound like a great option, I hope we get it here. That will make it easer to only buy what is on your list.

This sounds great! What an excellent idea for WalMart to test.  I hope it works. This would benefit a large segment of our population.  Way to go Walmart.

I used to work at a wal-mart.  And there was talk among management that delivery services were being worked out.  I too agree this service is great for those unable to get to the store.  I just hope the fee isn't to rich.  I don't agree with not tipping the delivery drivers... knowing how wal-mart pays it's associates and treats them for that matter accepting a tip as a delivery driver seems justified.  I know if you need help loading something whether it be from site to store or an ordinary store pick up associates aren't allowed to accept tips than either.  In fact when I was a cake decorator I had customers leave change and dollars up on the counter.  I would turn the money into customer service where it was than donated to the children's miracle network.

I haven't heard about it, but if it keeps all the welfare people out of the store, I'm all for it. It makes me angry to see other people spending the money I worked hard for.

Was this part of a study you were not suppose to say anything about?  Just curious.  Honestly, I do not see this happening.  They would have to have a min purchase order and I live in a rural area and you could drive quite a ways just to deliver a few items.  As for not accepting tips, I can't see the pay being good enough to keep delivery drivers.  As the price of gas keeps rising people could not afford to run all over town.  Just too many negatives.  I don't see it being something that makes it.

I rather go to the store to get my own groceries, but it'll be great for people who can't make it to the stores.

I saw that during a commerical survey and saw one for Target on tv today

I like actually going to the store to comparison shop and use coupons so I probably wouldn't use it. I see how others would benefit from it though.
