As a Comcast customer which would you rather do. Loose 50 to 60 channels just to save $15 or would you rather keep the channels and pay the extra money?

Since there's nothing on TV I would lose the channels and save money.

:) You can only watch one channel at a time. We are avid readers and watch very little TV or shows. I think you should do what you like, as long as you can afford it.  :)

Hulu Plus has all the TV shows you can watch for about $8 a month which is what we have, and as for Comcast we have basic cable. Works well for us and with Hulu Plus we just pull up the TV shows we want when we want.

I don't know.  The way you worded your question was a little bit vague.  I would think likely that I would pay the 15 bucks.  I am paying for premium channels now, so I would feel it would likely not be an issue, but you did not state if they were popular networks or networks that I would likely never miss having and could I still find them if I had the Netflix or something like that anyway?  Just a thought that I would think because the Netflix for eight bucks might beat out paying the fifteen to begin with.  And if enough people spoke that, then the provider may listen and get the message.  I have a great cable package with Time Warner that I am happy with and very dependable internet, so I am happy where I am.

Not everyone can afford Comcast.  I can't get Comcast because my brother in-law is getting it; he uses our address.  I was getting calls from Comcast because whoever owned my phone number before I did owed them for service.  My daughter had Comcast and had to file a report with the police because someone used her name to get the service.  I can't say to forgo the channels and save money because you more than likely are getting more channels for the money you pay.  If you are only watching some channels and not watching other channels, saving $15 would be a good idea. ??? ??? ??? :rainbow: :rose:

I would certainly take the savings and loose the channels, unless these channels are my favorite ones.

I can't afford Comcast but I have no choice. There are no other cable companies around here We don't have a smart TV and I only have a desktop computer with no room for the 2 of us to watch or else I'd jump on companies like Hulu or Netflix. Dish and DirectTV are available but I've asked around and those that have it eventually go back to Comcast because of losing the signal in bad weather too often.  Anyway, I compared the cost between those networks and  Comcast for the same channels and it would cost the same amount once the "special" runs it's course.

If we could choose our own channels, we would get rid of 3/4 of them. We watch maybe 8 channels out of the 120(?) or less we receive. We have the "startup' package and I can't downgrade any more because it would only give us basic channels, which we rarely watch.<sigh>

I am not a TV-watcher so I never pay this extra $ for channels.

it depends on the channels. Comcast and time warner cable are combining. That there is going to be a horror story.  At&t are supposed to combine with direct tv I think it.

I ditched Comcast and have Frontier for half the money with no TV service except an HDTV antenna, Netflix and my Roku box (total bill $48 a month).

My wife thought the same thing, but now we have new favorites and it's just as entertaining to watch TV, especially  when we think of the extra $150 (in your case) we can spend on a fun activity outside the home every year. In our case it was closer to $1,500!!!
