:) Well, not in my book. I love doing what I love to do.  :)

I don't think there is a difference.  I love being a grandmother, therefore, I keep enjoying it.

Yes, there is a huge difference.

In those two sentences, the clauses are reversed.

Yes, I do think that there is a difference; in fact I think that you can do what you like but not like what you do... When someone says they're doing what they like, it usually means that they have a talent in that field or somehow get enjoyment in that particular field. But when you are actually doing something in that field, there may be other factors that may limit your enjoyment. For example let's say that you enjoy computer programming (like me)... You enjoy problem solving, the logical way computers work, the creativity in designing a new program etc. So you get a job at some IT company. You're working there for a few months doing what you like. But then your manager retires and the new manager is a royal SOB, nit-picking on how you make a program, cursing out employees in front of the department, etc. In that case, you still would be doing what you like (namely computer programming) but because of the new manager you no longer like what you are doing.

I am a woman who works at an auto parts store and I am "loving what I do" even though I know next to nothing about car parts. I feel very fortunate that I have a job at all in this day and age.  :clover:

It's really not "doing what I love"  but it pays the bills and I truly enjoy it. I suppose that's because I get to meet and talk to lots of different people and try to help them. I learn lots of stuff from my customers and that's very cool.  :highfive:

I do not think so, they seem to go hand in hand.

I think that doing what you love would be doing something that is your ultimate dream while loving what you do would be being happy at whatever it is you are doing at the moment and maybe waiting for your dream.

You can love doing something but it's not your passion or dream opportunity.

It's like people who have a job that they may love but would love to do something else even if they weren't really making money doing it

I believe that there is a difference but I have been blessed to be able to do what I love so of course, I love what I do.

There’s a difference between doing what you love and loving what you do. Doing what you love is taking a passion you have. Selling your paintings, signing a book deal, performing for profit. But loving what you do involves taking something else — working hard on it, creating a professional pathway, seeing it to a lucrative end and being happy because your love for it grows. This is the kind of career that will grow with you.

i think that there is a difference.  the difference is this when you are doing what you love you dont care how much you are paid because you love it so much that it is almost like a part of you.  when you love what you do it is almost like you have settled for something and now you love doing it .  you may have started out just being ok with the work but now that you have really developed a knack for it you love it and typically you are paid more for this line of work.

There’s a difference between doing what you love and loving what you do... I love what I do, but I don't love doing it... is that true of all artists???
