pillows
« on: July 12, 2014, 07:23:31 am »
there are a number of pillow styles and types.
I have seen contour pillows, soft pillows, hard pillows, beads pillows, small pillows, even a side sleeper's pillow.

I even saw an "ostrich pillow" and a pillow shaped like a "j".
Some pillows have not been comfortable to me.
The contour pillow flattens after two years.
I like the beads filled pillows.[mellot beads[sp?]

When I was a child, we used to take a feather pillow apart with all the feathers flying around the room.

I just wish I could find a pillow that's comfortable and lasts longer than 3 months without paying a car payment for it!

I use 100% Latex firm pillow... It has the confortability of a memory foam pillow minus the toxicity

People with respiratory problems or allergies need to be careful of feather or down pillows (and comforters), as they can trigger an allergic reaction.  Admittedly, they are very comfortable and not every person with hay fever or similar allergies will have problems with these products, but it helps to be aware what your bedding is made out of when staying in a bed & breakfast or somewhere unfamiliar.

I just sleep on a regular generic pillow. I never could get one of those $30.00 pillows. I know they are comfortable but I am good with what I have

I need a medium- firm pillow. I bought my husband one of those contour pillows, because he complains about his neck sometimes, but he doesn't like it - says it's too hard. He'll use it when he watches tv in bed then removes it before going to sleep.

I really want to try one of the memory foam pillows but they're sooooooo expensive.  We've bought the store brand "knock-offs" but they just don't last long.

I should jump on this bandwagon of luxury pillows. I always used generic pillows too.

When I was growing up my Mom insisted on having down pillows and down comforters.  She was always freezing so they kept her very warm.  It wasn't until I read this that I had an ahha moment.  Growing up I had severe allergies/asthma and eczema.  Low and behold I bet the pillows had a little something to do with my symptoms.  Once I turned 19 I got out on my own... bought cheap $4.99 pillows but haven't had such extreme allergy/asthma symptoms either.  I stick to the cheap pillows.  When they flatten I reuse the fluff in my kids been bag chairs and buy new ones.

I was always sick when I was younger and finally realized it was because I was allergic to so many things around my grandparents' houses . I stopped being around all the fabrics and products they used and all the symptoms went away for the most part

I like a nice feather pillow. For years I had an allergic reaction to the feathers, but now I think they clean and sterilize them to the point where they don't bother me anymore.  I hate those polyester fiberfill pillows.
