You must have been angry at him, I would never go that long without seeing my brother or sister.

My brother is almost fourteen years older than me.  He left home by the time I was school aged.  We enjoyed each other when he'd visit, but we didn't really connect until I was in my thirties.  Still we lived far apart and our relationship was spotty, until a few years ago, now we talk every week.  A lot of this was due to our mom.

It's a shame when parents screw things up for their kids.  You have both matured.  If he's requested or at least consented to this reunion then he must think he's ready too.  Perhaps he's been longing for the relationship you had too.  Maybe he thought he burned that bridge and is happy to have a chance to rebuild it.  Stay positive and be open, it'll be alright.   :peace:  :highfive:

Best of luck with your reunion with your brother.  I hope it turns out to be as wonderful as you hope it to be.  I haven't seen my brother or sister since our mother died almost five years ago.  It wasn't my idea but I don't think the problems can be resolved between us.  Again though, best of luck to you two.

I bet you're a bundle of nerves mixed with excitement.  I know I would be if I were you.  I hope you and your brother are able to reconnect in a way that leads to a healthy relationship for you both now.  Keep us posted on how it goes.

Best of luck.  My sister and I are 10 years apart and she moved out when I was very young so we never "grew up" together.  We were friends, but not really close until our mom became sick.  We reconnected then and now are best friends.  Maybe it also has to do with my growing up and becoming a mother so I don't seem like a kid sister or baby to her.  I hope you and your brother can be close again.

Please keep us updated on whether the reunion was great or bad.  I hadn't seen my sister in 33 years and finally reunited with her in 2000.  We speak to each other often, and we both went to college at the same university (I majored in Accounting, while she majored in Criminal Justice).  I completed my tenure and earned my Bachelor's and minor degrees, and she dropped out for a while.  Good luck. :female: :female: :male: :rainbow: :rose:
