I got my boys hooked on Weird Al. If I say "Eat it" I hear at least one sing "Eat it, eat it, eat it." I remember listening to Dr. Demento on the radio and hearing Weird Al.  I love parodies. And his new one Tacky is great.

I've been hearing about his new album on TV a lot but haven't heard any of the songs.  I saw him this morning and he said that he is not going to do any more albums.  It's too hard to come up with enough songs for an album but he is not retiring - just no more albums.

Yes he has lots of fans, and he may come off as strange but his style is one of a kind, and its pretty good niche

I love all forms of song manipulations: parodies, mashups/remixes, cross-genres (a song that is played in a completely different genre form than its original, like The Gourds blue-grass version of Snoop's "Gin and Juice" or like when Weird Al puts a polka beat to a modern song), etc. I sometimes feel that it is more difficult to do something like making a parody than it is to just record an original song in that not only do you have to write your own lyrics and have them make sense, but also to match them to the original lyrics in sound. The best parodies I've found are those that rhyme the original lyrics or even use some of the original lyrics but within the new context they take on a different meaning. With all of the sharing and posts that I've seen on Facebook about some of the songs on his new album, I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes as popular as his "Smells Like Nirvana" or "Eat It" both of which made it into the top 40 on the Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

I have never seen much of Weird Al before, although now I wish I had.  I have seen some of his album on TV, and it's really funny.

I like his sense of humor - I get it! I like his Word Crimes from his new album.

From the old stuff I like his Amish Paradise (hilarious) and White and Nerdy - another great one that features that hottie Donny Osmond!

Honestly Al is a genius. Most people would've taken their 15 minutes back in the 80's and be done with it,but Al managed to adapt to the differing styles of music and the latest pop culture fads and make them his own.So his act is never going to feel dated or get "old".Hopefully he's still doing his thing for many years to come.
