bake sale fundraiser and garage sale
« on: August 11, 2014, 05:12:10 pm »
I had a bake sale fundraiser over the weekend. I did pretty well. I made $150 for my club. I have a garage sale planned in two weeks. I would like to know what seems to sell well in any garage sales you might have had. I'm hoping to have a very sucessful sale.

Many people look for furniture. Try to find things like kitchen appliances for students that will move to a dorm since school just started, they will be looking for small microwaves and maybe twin beds, probably shower curtains, small dinning table, coffee pots....

I think that kids clothes always sell the best in garage sales but really anything that is marked so low people think its a real good deal they will buy it!

It depends on who comes by and what they want.  There is no way to know.  In my opinion clothes don't sell well.  Kids clothes do better than adult clothes.

TOOLS.  Guys in trades that are retiring or just really hard up for cash generally try and sell there tools.  This is a gold mine for guys and girls looking to purchases tools without having to pay full price.  If you have any make sure you mention the traits sort of tool in your ad's if your advertising your sale in a local paper.  Also baby stuff.  And direct sales things.  ie: Pampered Chef, partylite etc... many consultants eat this stuff up to use as door prizes or prizes for there downline meetings.

I've always just gone through my house and tried to sell whatever I don't need or want anymore.  People tend to look for all kinds of stuff, but I do agree furniture is a big one that people want.  That and cheap kids clothes.
