I think true friends are very hard to find it seems people only want to be around to get something out of you, I don't have very much friends but weather they are true friends or not I don't know.

I do think true friends are hard to find.  I have had friends throughout my life, many friends, but none have stuck around through thick and thin like my very own sister. She loves me unconditionally, and I her. She can come to me with anything, anything at all and I'll give her my honest opinion. She's helped me through some tough times, and I have her. Whoever comes and goes in our lives, we'll always be there for each other. We were born on the same day, and sometimes I wonder if we'll die on the same day!

I believe if I want a true friend...I should be a true friend.  If I want to interact with people who live with integrity...I should live with integrity.

I'm selective about who I choose to interact with.  I have a best friend where we trust, respect and love each other.

Have a great day!

I'm now experiencing now that someone that I thought was my friend is actually my enemy! I've know them for 17 years.
I am with you on that one! I am also having a bad experience with someone I thought was my best friend for almost 19 yrs. She will regret losing my friendship as I was the only one there for her when she needed someone. Now we will see who is really there for her in the end. I feel sorry for her actually. Don't beat yourself up about it like I used to do. This is the 2nd time I got burnt with her and she is so not worth it! I feel sad inside but she will have to beg for my forgiveness, even though I already forgave her (hehe) but I don't have to surround myself with her negative vibes! :)

I'm pushing 40 and I think I've had 2 or 3 good friends. Even than it seems they come and go with life's changes.  Someone told me once that when we die if we can count 5 true good friends on one hand you've lived a good life.  I'd say that's very true.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by "true friend".  If a stranger offers you assistance when you are in trouble are they a true friend?  If the people who surround you during the easy/good times for years leave you when the going is tough for you then are they true friends?  If someone befriends you while you  are suffering and helps relieves your suffering then disappears once you are no longer suffering are they a true friend?

I have one true friend and we've managed to stay friends for years even after moving away from each other. They have been there for me when I needed them and vice versa. I "talk" to a lot of people but they are all labeled as acquaintances. I am very cautious as to who I call my "friend".If you can trust your gut and recognize true friendship, then it's not hard

Yes, it sure is hard to find a true friend. I hardly have any friends its so hard to trust people and they always disappoint in some way or another.

Let me respond to this question with a resounding 'Most definitely!' I am naturally distrustful of people because of past experiences. Most of those individuals only wanted something from me and then they discarded me when I was no longer of use to them. So, no, I do not have ANY true friends.

I think a true friend is very hard to find. In fact you're lucky if you come across one in a life time. We have lots of "friends" but a true friend is way above that.
