how do people live with out air conditions

I use fan all day long.  My fan it on 24/7 I think all summer now.  Hope it gone away because I don't feel good with my migraine.

Depends on the kind of house and where you live.  We used to live in our finished basement for two months of the year during the summer.  We did eventually get air conditioning so we didn't have to be be "mole people"...lol!!

When I lived in NY I never had air conditioner, now that I have central air in my house down south I don't know how I lived without it.

I am heat intolerant due to medical problems and days like this are absolutely miserable. I would die without AC.

aww im sorry that happened I couldn't live without my ac..i live in Chicago and our summers suck it is so hot you could fry an egg on the sidewalk I pretty much stay inside most of the summer or if I have to go out I have to know that the place has an ac

I have such bad arthritis that when it is hot I really enjoy it. I could definitely live without A/C but my husband has to run it because he has high blood pressure, and takes many medications. As for me I don't take any medicines but I take a vitamin for digestion called DGL. I am retired and was brought up without A/C so if they did away with it, it would not bother me. I frequently go outside to get warm when my husband is home.

I agree with this in a vehicle, which I find as a necessity. I live in a cooler climate, so I don't really have one at home. I've been to other people's houses in much warmer climates that I do see as a necessity, however. I coincidentally had an incident like this in the past few months with an old friend (his apartment) and we had to buy a portable unit on the spot as we were suffering.

my ac unit died today and it is hotter then heck in my house right now i got 3 fans going waiting on the guy to get here sure hope it can be fixed tonight

Not being smart but you will live.  We did not have air conditioning until I was in my 20s.  People get too spoiled and living in their own world and do not seem to realize there are tons of people here in the US that do not have air conditioning.  All they have is a fan if they even have that.  They are hot but they live thru it.

i have absolutely no ac at all only fans for years & a window fan. the heat i can deal with it as for winter thats the worst for me.

Good luck! We're in the middle of a heat wave here in the Midwest, window units only, but running all day all night-don't even want to look at the bill!

I use a cooling fan which is not as efficient as an air conditioner but good enough on hot days.
