When do children grow up?
« on: August 20, 2014, 10:15:48 pm »
My youngest daughter might me mad at me, all because I didn't give her my undivided and immediate attention. She'll be 21 in 1 month! Didn't I do this already? At what age does this stop? :(

My boys grew up well before they went to high school. It is all what you do to teach them. Of course I know that girls are harder to raise so you have to do many things with them and show them that your love for them are constant and not upset by others in your life. I know because my mother never put me first her friends and images were more important to her.

ouch 21 and still act like a child
O & Dynamite2013
21 is an adult infact 18 is an adult but if someone spoils to much they'll be mentally a child (theres a line between love and caring and overdo of it and spoiling them to a point of un-ability to function in society) but as when children grow up well it depends (i grew up way early i say around 15) but if they aren't ready @ 18 thats loco.

Although I have never had either of my daughters get mad at me for not giving her immediate attention, I do have to say they still need me even though they are in their 30's and married. I am always happy to listen to their troubles and offer support. Motherhood is a lifelong commitment.

Never!  Especially girls;  we have 3 ranging in age from 26 to 44 and sometimes they still act like babies! lol  They get jealous of each other and they put me in the middle.  And, they always assume that I'm just here to do for them, whether its baby-sitting, running kids around to different activities or whatever.  I love them dearly, as I do my grandkids but if they'd grow up a little more my life, and prob theirs too, would be a lot easier.

It is a difficult age. Generally speaking people don't lose their sense of egotism until they're roughly 22-24 for females and 25-27 for males. Some people never grow out of the thought that the world revolves around them.

It stops when you put your foot down.  i mean really that is stuff that my soon to be 2 year old is pulling.  at some point they have to grow up now is the perfect time for her to learn that.

Some people never grow up. They just move on from being a pain to their parent to their spouse's problem

My boys grew up acting like gentlemen. They worked hard on the farm and had respect for every one. But I have seen some young people and even older act like brats.  I saw a young man in his early 20's throw a temper tantrum at a major retail store all because him mom would not give him the money for  a new  TV. It was so awful and the mother just  ended up giving in.  I don't know what makes some of the youngsters tick anymore.
