September means a lot to me too. My grandpa passed away on 9-11. It has been about 8 years but it still hurts. When 9/11 comes around I am not only thinking of the horrible things that happened in NY, but also about my grandpa.

September has my dad's, a few of my cousin's, a few of my friends, and my birthday!

We have a lot of birthdays in this family all of which fall on the first.  I am hoping my son will be coming home from the service this month.  He has put in around 12 yrs.  I think that's a good long time to have a job.

September means the kids will be returning to school which means I will be their main source of transportation to and from school, sports and events.  I will be in charge of making their breakfasts and lunches.  I will be required to work more in order to cover all of the additional expenses that go with school.  It is also a somewhat selfish time as the family locks into taking care of their needs and forgetting about everything else: putting away their dishes, walking the dogs, picking up their things, saying Thank You or even taking time to spend with the family, or even wondering how my day was in addition to the things that I do for them...or wonder why I am quiet or passing out the minute that my head hits the pillow.

My mother's birthday is Sept. 11.   But she died this year in February.  So I had to visit her at the cemetery.

September is my birthday month and it would of been my dad's also if he was still here. He passed away almost 4 years ago and it is still kind of hard around our birthdays. We were just a day apart.

Yes September is a month of remembrance for our heroes who lives were lost on 9/11. Interesting enough it is the numbers we dial for in case of emergency. I also have a few family and friends who birthday is this month.

September for me also includes the remembrance of 9/11.  Beyond that, it's also my official start to the trivia season - where I take notes on all the new Fall TV Shows that start airing.  And hopefully this was the first year of a long tradition for food preservation and other harvesting activities - as I'm learning how to freeze and can the veggies ready for harvest in my garden (which I hope to slowly expand each year).

Up until a month ago, September was the start of my favorite time of year. The weather will start to get cool. My birthday is in October and then it's Halloween. Then Thanksgiving in November and Christmas in December. Then my daughters birthday in January. My brother in Feb and my sister and husband in March. My due date was in Sept as well but my baby girl decided she was going to come a month early so now my favorite time of year will start in August.

The remembrance of 911 is very important to me too, especially as a NYer. Also my niece was actually born on 911 too.

September 28th is my wedding anniversity.  39 years, two children, and one grandchild later and we are still in love!  Sure we fight but most people do, but we are there for each other 100% of the time.

You are killing me.  I don't mean to demean the reasons you gave.  9/11 certainly means a ton to me.  I know the Mets aren't in it, but there is still a pennant race heating up!!!

September has many memories for me as well and not just 9/11 (although that is a significant one).  It's the month I lost two of my children as well as my spouse.  On a bright note, it's also the month I celebrate my niece's birthday!  So we just roll with the punches and move on.

I'm sorry to hear that, I hope your grandfather is resting in peace and love.

September means a lot to me too. My grandpa passed away on 9-11. It has been about 8 years but it still hurts. When 9/11 comes around I am not only thinking of the horrible things that happened in NY, but also about my grandpa.
