I always when I got nervous when I didn't feel fully prepared.  If it was a presentation that I knew, then I was good.  But if I was missing stuff or didn't have everything, then I was nervous.

I was always nervous when in school during presentations all the way up to college. Even now I periodically get a little nervous, especially as I don't do this very often anymore.

One is always nervous beforehand.  :-[

I always found that once you start, it is never as bad as you think it will be.

Then it's over and you have a feeling of having accomplished something. What a payoff!

I'm the type that gets nervous afterwards. While speaking I'm on autopilot and just get it done. Later though I worry if I did alright.

Yup, I dreaded every time. I even tried to play sick so I could stay how from school. Which rarely worked. The teachers would sometimes make the report(s) worth half our grade forcing us (students) to do it, cause they knew kids hate doing them.

When I was in middle and high school I was extremely nervous about speaking in front of the class. For some reason once I got into college it didn't bother me anymore. Now I have no problem speaking in front of a group.

I was never good with public speaking in school.  I still remember having to do a speech in middle school and was horribly afraid.  I pushed myself through the presentation but had a hard time looking out at my classmates.  Even through friends all told me I did great, I was a wreck inside.

That lasted even into college.  That's when I decided to take my own steps to get over my fear or anxiety of speaking in front of people I didn't know.  First was taking a job at McDonald's which forced me to speak to other people directly.  Then I took a debate class one semester.  Then my roommate got me into the campus ballroom club.  I had so much fun and learned so much, I started teaching.  It was the teaching that really got me over as I was so passionate about helping people learn to dance, that passion overshadowed my fear until I became comfortable.

Now I do presentations before clients as I'm part of a team implementing major computer systems, so I have to communicate lots of technical stuff to a group of non technical people.  I'll get the typical "nerves before a performance", but now know how to use that to better the presentation.  I still feel the occasional twinge of fear, but I have so many tools to get me started, and once I get going, I'm totally fine.

I was very shy and nervous when I was going to school.  Getting up in front of the class was torture.  When I was older and working in the public, I got over a lot of it.  Also, I earned my Associates Degree in college by taking night classes.  My employer at the time paid for the classes.  We had to give oral presentations in almost every class.  This was extremely helpful.  Now I joke that I can't keep my mouth shut.  :)

The first time I ever presented I was incredibly nervous.  I remember discussing something personal.  Within about 5 minutes of the presentation it became therapeutic for me.  Since than I've not had much of an issue with presenting in front of a crowd.  As long as I know my material it's like talking to friends.

Of course, and it it wasn't until I was an adult that I could handle doing a presentation.

Presentations always make me extremely nervous. I would definitely rather not do them. But I've learned that if you have video footage, slides, or music, it helps take some of the attention and pressure off yourself while giving a presentation. It can also make your presentation more appealing, giving your audience something to speak to their senses.
