Do you struggle with hypertension? If so, how do you deal with it?

Yes I struggle with hypertension on a daily basis. I take four medications for it and exercise regularly to try to keep my weight down to combat it. In my case it is an inherited problem. Practically everyone in my family has it. Decreasing salt intake also helps.

I don't, but I have family members who do.  They take medications to control it and watch their diets.  Little or no salt also helps them.

I do and I am on medication and exercise regularly. It is in my family but have found that is is more my personality and reaction to stress than what I eat. There is no doubt that reducing your sodium intake definately helps with hypertension. I concentrate on a healthy diet excercise and reducing my stress. :rainbow: :rose: :peace:

Every time I go to the doctors for a general check up or my well woman appointment which is annually, they tell me my blood pressure is a little high. I realize if I lost a little bit of weight and cut down on my salt intake, that could make al the difference. But I find store bought foods contain so much salt don't they? As a consequence I am trying to make more home made dishes and purchase less store bought products. It takes more effort but it's worth the result.

Never suffered high blood pressure.. But if I were I would cut back on salty food, exercise, and not worry about it (stress can bring a lot more problems)

I don't think I do, but some people in my family do. So I have to watch my salt intake.

I take a prescription medication for my high blood pressure.  Right now I have a lot of stress in my life due to family health issues so even with the medication it still is a little higher than it should be.

Yes I deal with hypertension it's a family trait.  I monitor my blood pressure closely and take doctor prescribed medications to keep my blood pressure under control.  I also exercise, this helps.  :)
