Crowdflower Extension
« on: September 17, 2014, 10:15:37 pm »
So I finally installed this b/c you need it for the majority of all the task but I have noticed since I have installed it my internet seems to run slower. Also, every time I run a virus scan it has been detecting and removing hundreds of tracking cookies. I know tracking cookies are not as bad as other viruses but it still kind of worries me. Now I am not 100% that this is all due to the extension but it is the only thing I have downloaded recently. Any one else use this new extension and have problems?

I've had the extension in my browser for a while now, no problems with it.  Tracking cookies aren't considered viruses.

I must have missed something.  What is the Crowdflower Extension?  Is there a place to go read about it.  This is the first time I've heard it mentioned.

I have not heard or seen the extension either. Where do we go to find it and install it?

For everyone who's asking, the Crowdflower Extension usually comes up in some of the Crowd Flower Tasks.  It's a browser extension that you install in order to complete some of the tasks.  After installation, the icon shows up on your browser's toolbar.  With it, you'll be able to complete the Tasks that require it.

I did actually see it within a task last night that I was checking out.  It was late and I didn't have time to explore it further, but I'm a little reluctant to add this "extension" since reading the comment above.  I usually have enough tasks that I can do that don't require an extension!

I think it's stupid that they force you to download a browser extension in order to do the tasks. I'm not going to risk my computer for a couple of cents. Saturday I couldn't do any tasks, because all the tasks I tried it said I needed the extension, and I refuse to download it.
