im spoiled I don't make it I go to the grocery store and buy it but I know there is both hand crank and electric that you can make homemade because I had done as a kid. I know it involves rock salt as one of the ingredients

Buy yourself an ice cream maker.  They usually come with a booklet and different recipes.  You can even look up recipes on the web.
