You may be doing it for the wrong reason. When my Grandma took me in to raise she thought, "I GET to take him in to raise" and I would feel like it was a privelege and not a duty.

yes i do feel priveledged my daughter and i havent really gotten along for a very long time ,i`m just nervous i have continued to do daycare thru the years but not really newborns except my other two children with my mom and husband to help you see when i was about 24 found my second son dead in crib,blamed myself for along time it was crib death dr`s tell me there was nothing i could have done but none the less i feel guilty,dont want to terrify kid by waking them up every five minutes but scared they want wake up if i dont,sorry if this to much info!

A baby is such a blessing--i pray your daughter gets her life together and realizes she need to grow up and take responsiblity --i also pray for you and this new life you have to raise--i hope all things turn out ok

thank you i pray for the same things as it gets closer i get nervous but i have alot of love to give and good family support and been going thru carenet refreshing my memories on how to take care of a newborn i think wwe will be ok but prayers are always welcome

Be consistent, never say or threaten anything you are not going to follow through on. This is very important. If you make empty threats the child learns that you are a liar.

I am learning this my 4 yr old granddaughter pushes the limit but im getting there

It is not easy raising a baby after you raised your children but there is light at the end of the tunnel.  You will look back with great pride and joy that you do the right thing.  Congratulation!  Enjoy your grand baby.

  Love the baby and look at the opportunity of raising a child. I think it is great you are doing this.
