a man who is caught urinating in public can be convicted as a sex offender... I would definitely look into the nature of the crime.

As some have mentioned, I guess it would depend on what the offense was... I had a friend in high school that was almost charged because he broke up with his 16 yr. old girlfriend while he was 18 (the girl finally convinced her parents not to go that route).

I have dated one . he did not tell me until after he guessed i had feelings for him.. I felt this to be totally minuplative and I would not ever date one again. ever.

NO!  A million times NO!  I believe that this is one group of offenders that CANNOT be rehabilitated!

Depends what was the offense? I mean some perverted 30 year old man molesting a 10 year old HELL NO!. Some dude that got caught peeing on the side of the road or some guy that was 18 or 19 and had a girlfriend that was just a little to young (say 15-16), perhaps. It would depend on what type of person he was now.

That depends on the classified offense (most would probably be something that would dissuade me), but if just saying sex offender in general, I would normally see this as a dealbreaker.

There are many reasons people get labeled or arrested for sex offenses.  Most of the ones that I know it's a matter of about 4 yrs age difference which caused the offence.  So I would have to say it would depend on what the story was.  If it's an age difference and how old and how long ago.  I would also say that I think it wrong to have such a general label for these offenses.  I also think that in most cases the person shouldn't have to be made to register the rest of their lives for something that happened when they were teens.

It depends on the circumstances.  I know several men actually who are registered sex offenders because they had sex with their girlfriend who was under 18 and they were 18 or 19.  So it's not fair for them to be labeled a horrible person.  I know another guy who met a woman at a bar and they left together and had sex and she was not forced to do anything but she cried rape and he went to jail and is now a sex offender.  Just because you are a sex offender does not mean you really are.
