Children's Bedtime
« on: September 30, 2014, 08:49:25 am »
Do kids still have a bedtime these days? Mine do, it seems as though they are the only ones. I'm not giving in though kids need proper sleep and I need a break.

I do believe children should have a bedtime.  They need at least 8 to 10 hours of sleep these days.  Kindergarten is starting to have home work.  If the  children ride a bus they have to be out to be picked up around 6:30a and don't get home until after 4:30pm.  Well that is the way it is here anyways.  I agree with you but some parents just don't want to fight there children to go to bed.  I say if you start them in a routine early in age than it will not be a problem latter.  So my hat is off to you and I bet you child is one of the most behaved child in school because he has structure at home at that is because of you and anyone else that may help you like a spouse or partner.

Kids need a bedtime. I am a preschool teacher and I can tell which children don't have a set bedtime, they are the ones with behavior issues or trouble focusing because they are so tired. My kids always had a set bedtime, it just made things easier in our routine.

Kids definitely need a bed time. They need enough sleep to do well at school the next day. They need 8 hours of rest. Stick with your bed time!! You're doing the right thing.
