What type of internet connection are you using? Certain providers use proxies which may show you as in another location because of the way the signal bounces around

It happens, especially if you have location turned on, or in your weather, browser, social network etc. Also vendor have invested in simple software that reveal your location through your IP address which is used to communicate online eg. phone number, for anyone to text you they'll need your number. Likewise the vendor needs your IP Address to send you the survey. (your info on your computer is not revealed)
By revealing where you are it may qualify or disqualify you from certain surveys seeing that it's based on demographic.

This is great information and handy to know!  But I think the question that countryway was concerned about is why it's showing that he/she is out of the country when they clearly are NOT out of the country.  Unless there's been a secession that I'm unaware of, the last time I checked Missouri is still part of the United States, lol.  I'm very curious if anyone has an answer for this.

I am from Missouri too and haven't had this happen to me, as of yet! My best advice to you would be to make sure your computer is not using a proxy or a shared network. Make sure your computer is set to a home network. Clear your cookies and your cache before logging into FC. It also helps to have an anti-virus on your computer to prevent proxies. People have been known to swipe out a whole computer program and use the original one, whereas you would have the copy version. I know from family and friends that if this occurs, surveys can detect this, and you can be disqualified of completing any surveys. This is just what I know from experience. Hope I was of some help!
Good Luck!
