Flavored milk
« on: October 28, 2014, 06:56:21 pm »
Do you give your toddlers flavored milk. My son is about to turn 2 and I stay away from it for now. Since he will drink it plain why give him the extra sugar?

I add Ovaltine to my kids milk, so there is some good stuff in there too, not just sugar like Nesquick.

If he doesn't have any allergies, he could try chocolate almond milk. I don't think that's packed with sugar. There are healthier options out there.

I give my kid organic chocolate milk sometime. But most of time I just give them regular organic milk. Don't want them have too much sugar.

I don't like milk but if I had to drink it it would be chocolate milk.

I agree with most in this post...the best milk is chocolate milk. Period.

Vanilla flavored almond milk is delicious, and my kids love it.

I always had plain milk growing up and chocolate on special occasions and that's how I plan to raise my kids.  Nothing seems to be a treat any more.  I've come across so many people who can't stand the taste of plain milk yet chocolate milk they have no problem.  I understand trying to encourage your kids to eat healthier by adding some more flavors to the mix, but again, not all the time.

I would hope my kid are able to drink at least one measuring cup of plain milk without it being too much for them.  Honestly, if your kid will drink it without flavoring, I'd keep at it as long as possible.

Assuming he doesn't have allergies a little flavored milk now and then won't hurt.

I tried the flavored almond and the soy varieties...there was only a hint of aftertaste in the flavored varieties...they weren't bad at all.

I always gave my kids "pink" milk and they loved it. I gave them regular milk too, but they always enjoyed the strawberry flavor.
