I read about this on the internet.  What will we do without chocolate???  Since I personally don't care for the dark chocolate, I think they should stop making it since it is using so much of the cocoa beans and only make milk and white chocolates (my favorites).

I am sure people who love the dark chocolate would disagree with your theory there. lol.

I was the first one to answer you yesterday and when I checked it today I couldn't believe how many replies there have been since then.  A lot of people obviously care about chocolate.

I'm pretty sure Monsanto will take care of this as soon as they can.

Have you heard that the world is eating more chocolate than is being produced and that if it continues we will run out by 2020, especially because of the popularity of dark chocolate (which has more coca beans in it). One possible solution is to grow a variety that has less taste, but would that work for you? It would cut down on consumption, but could go the other way too far.

I heard about this story AFTER I heard that there was going to be less chocolate because of the countries the cocoa bean is grown in - due to Ebola and these countries not having enough people to pick the beans.  Now I wonder which one is true.  Actually, I wonder if ANY of it is true or is it just another way to jack up the price of chocolate since everything else has gone sky high.
I wonder also. Shame believing this story is like believing Republicans will come up with anything to benefit the American people and i do not mean the RICH.

I heard this today on The Doctor's.  I hope it is not true.   I can't live without my chocolate fix every now and then.

I am sure we all will, but it will be interesting if someone solves the problem before it hits. There certainly does seem to be a lot of people willing to buy it if they do.

I rarely eat or drink chocolate, but I do love to cook and bake with it. My family loves it. I on the other hand am not a big sweet eater. But it would be shame if something happened and there would be no more.  Of course with a/fib I am not suppose to have it because of the  caffeine.

No I have not yet of this either. I watch the news every day. What part of the world or where did this come from. Where did you find this.

Search Google for world wide chocolate shortage.

I haven't heard that before!  I personally am trying to cut down on my own consumption of chocolate, for weight-loss reasons.

I am going to have to check that. The last time I googled something and posted it, it turned out to be a hoax.
