Seatbelts
« on: November 21, 2014, 02:15:06 pm »
Do you always wear your seatbelt? Do you always make sure your kids are wearing seatbelts?  I know I do.  I read a news story today of a family of 8 heading to Disney world, a 16 year old was driving and crashed.  His parents and 4 of his siblings were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle and all but one died.  So tragic.  Please always wear your seatbelt!!

I wear them.  I was t-boned once and was very glad I was buckled in.  I even had a sticker on my dashboard to inform my passenger to buckle up.  Besides, it's the law.

When I was young (30 years ago), my dad and sister were in an accident. They got hit so hard in the back that their seats broke however both walked away because they were wearing their seatbelts. Up until that time I wore my seatbelt sometimes and sometimes I did not. After that accident I always wore my seatbelt.

I always wear my seat belt.  I saw this story on the news too, and it's just a reminder to wear them at all times.  So sad.

i always wear my setbelt and make sure anyone in the vehicle with me has on theirs also---my son was just in a terrible wreck and if he had not had it on i dont think he would be here with me anymore --he rolled over a 360 and all the glass broke out and everything in the truck came out but him --he crawled out the window and cut his hand getting out and that was all he got !! someone was with him for sure !!

I also heard about the unfortunate Texas tragedy. I feel sorry for the family and I do worry about the trauma the driver is going to have for being the responsible person in the accident. I always wear a seatbell when in a car and I definitely instill this for anyone who rides with me.

When I was young I wore a seatbelt when I rode in the front seat but not if I rode in the backseat. I witnessed a very bad accident when I was in highschool from that time on I always wore a seat belt. I wear a seatbelt for safty sake not because it is the law. :turkey: :turkey: :peace:

I was very lucky to grow up with safety minded parents.  Long before wearing seat belts became mandatory and/or the obvious thing to do, my parents *always* wore theirs and *always* made sure we wore them as well.  It just became a habit and I've never even had to think about it.  Soon as I get in it goes on.

Jeez, that's really horrible about that family. I've always worn my seatbelt. At this point it'd feel really weird and unsafe to go without one.
