dont know but back in my day girls carried hairspray.  My dad made me carry a bar of soap in a sock used it once broke the bar of soap never had a problem again my cousin kept a roll of pennies in his pocket to hold on to
of course the rule of thumb is to never carry anything that can be taken away from you and used on you

I am not sure if the school systems will allow it, but depending on the age of the child and the reason for it, it should be good.  You might need to check the school's rules since some of them might consider them a "Weapon"

I don't think it is illegal but I'm sure it is against the school code of conduct to have it at school. I would say that if the child kept it hidden away and didn't tell anyone, then who would ever know he has it at school?

It all depends on how old the child is and if they are bringing it too school. If the school has metal detectors then I would say no.

To be honest I don't know, but as it is a weapon, I suspect it would be illegal. For the record, I once went on a self defense course and the instructor said it is always a good idea to carry things like an umbrella with you in case you need to fend someone off. He also recommended keys (lots of them) attached to one of the curly cords - they're great for swinging at someone. He also said never to keep your purse in the front passenger seat because it's the first place thieves look on a hot day when the window is open and you pull up at a stop sign/traffic light.

i dont think it would be illegal as long as they dont play with it at school something to always think out to many kidnappings anymore teach your kids also to never take anything from a strange run screaming to get anyones attention so sad knowing that people could do that always keep your babies safe especially bedtime lock doors and windows set alarm if you have one

How old is the "child" in question?  I believe in some states it's illegal to sell Pepper Spray to anyone under either 21 years or 18 years of age.  I'll bet that in ANY state a kid can't have it on them in SCHOOL.  To find out the true legality of the matter, you would have to check with your state's laws.

I am pretty sure you have to be 18.  You have to be 18 or 21 to buy it.  Why would a "child" need to carry pepper spray?  Just asking for trouble.  Then if a "child" sprays someone with it and that person defends themselves the parent will be crying how unfair it is.  A person has a right to defend themselves how ever they need to if attacked no matter the age of the attacker.

Thing is people/kids/teens act so stupid these days with screaming and just being ignorant that most people don't pay attention to it any more.

I recently read about a ring that can be used to raise an alarm if need arises.
