Favorite Tea
« on: December 05, 2014, 01:08:39 pm »
News Flash -- It's winter time and it's nice to have something warm to eat or drink on a cold day.   :D

I enjoy cold weather and I can have fun playing with a snow shovel.  I do; however, consider a warm drink a survival tool when it's cold outside.

I've tried a lot of different teas and I need to be careful with additives, so I decided to go with the following recipe, for health related reasons.

2 C. boiling water
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground turmeric
1 Tbsp. maple syrup or honey
Juice of half a lemon

Simmer water and spices for at least 10 minutes.  Filter spices out of liquid.  I use a coffee maker with filter; however, there's more than one way to skin a cat so find a way that works for you.  Add sweetner and lemon.

Ginger is incredibly nutritious and Turmeric is so amazing that it deserves to have a "thread" of it's own.  Honey is great for killing off H. pylori; which is, a bacteria found in the stomach.

Be well and be happy today and always.

Do you have a favorite drink?  How do you make it or where do you buy it?

Have a great day!

I have tried a ton of different types of tea and I like peppermint tea the best.  It really cleans out my sinuses.

I love ginger tea I make a big pot of it using fresh ginger root when I feel like I'm getting sick and it knocks it right out.  I also put turmeric in it sometimes, sometimes I add cloves too.  All these ingredients have antiviral properties that are good for your health.

Currently my favorite tea is jasmine green tea.

I love the Chi Tea I get at the grocery store.  Your recipe sounds a little like it.

I don't have a favorite tea, but I know I need more ginger in my life, so I will be buying ginger and making more ginger tea.
