I am not saying everyone that makes a resolution is superstitious and i am sure that some that make them are sincere and have succcess.

But they can go hand in hand too...thats all i am saying.Dont say they dont.

I am making a resolution to stop my fear of flying.....and when they do they bring their Jesus cross with them...get it???

Whether that plane landed safely or crashed that cross would have no bearing on the matter.....

Of course unless you walked into the cockpit and forced it down the pilots throat and he choked to death and no one was there to fly the plane.

If you need a "good luck charm" to complete a resolution, that makes you the one that is superstitious. It doesn't make the resolution a superstition. They don't go hand in hand. They simply don't.

Setting a resolution isn't going to make a non-superstitious all of sudden turn to a superstition to complete it. It's just not. A superstitious person might, but there is absolutely nothing about setting a resolution that is superstitious.

And this of course has nothing to do with setting a resolution.

Well thats my point...a person may set a resolution but may need a superstition to carry it out.....

Again the person is afraid to fly and says im gonna not be afraid anymore and he relys on his good luck charm to be with him and if he forgets it he doesnt board the plane.

I don't like making resolutions because I find it hard to follow it. I like to set small goals and achieve them.

I make resolutions, even write them down, but so far I haven't followed through. That's my main goal this coming new year, following through with what I've said-wish me luck :)

They don't work, you'd put in more work into it if you had a personal conviction or a reasonable plan to succeed.
