Silly
« on: December 14, 2014, 01:36:39 am »
OK, so I have asthma, and I'm always looking for ways to improve my breathing.
I read somewhere that singing can increase your lung capacity, and help you breathe better.
I decided to try it, thinking it couldn't hurt.

So today, I'm sitting, working on the computer, and just singing away, not really paying attention.
And then, I realized what I was singing.

Out of all the songs I know, from 58 years of listening to music, what song comes out first?

"Ninety-nine bottles of beer on the wall, ninety nine bottles of beer..."   :D

You should try drinking beet juice.(if the idea appeals to you) It has great healing properties on the lung tissue.

Google JediJohnnie and May the Force be with you!

I honestly don't know if it works or not, BATISTAGIRL663, but I figured it can't hurt.
It's not an instant thing, but over time, I can see it helping.
Deep breathing also helps.

Sounds like it could work.  Have you tried yoga breathing exercises?  I also hear thyme helps open the throat.

I suppose that is a pretty easy song to remember.  Good luck with the technique.

Keep us informed.  I don't think it could hurt.  I have a couple of people in my family with asthma.  So if it works I will have them try.

That is a funny one. I wonder why your mind decided to pick that one. Maybe you were thinking about having a cold one. Now that is a good thought! BMaston12

Hahaha nice song. Next time you can sing the song Sweet Home Alabama. I love that song. My son has asthma also and he sings a lot. Also good to know that it is actually helping him, now I will not say son time out on the signing. I will let him chime away along with his silly lil dances.

I used to listen to Sweet Home Alabama a lot, and sing along. With a voice like mine, it's helps if the music's loud. Haha
