Do you or have you ever re-gifted?
« on: December 17, 2014, 11:05:34 am »
I have never done that, but I have a friend who does that alot.  When she gets something she hates, she puts a little tag with the person's name who gave her the gift, that way she knows they won't get it back.  I kind of have mixed feelings, I guess it is better than just throwing it away, but I think it's kind of tacky to do that.

I believe I have, but I can't think of a specific example right now.  I know I've donated some things I got.  I hate to waste things when someone else could use them.  My mom was terrible at picking gifts.  She sent me one of those herb gardens, three years in a row.  ::)

yes i have --i believe that just because i dont really care for it that there is someone out there that would enjoy it alot --it better than it being packed away in a box and never being used

I'm thinking of doing it this year. I have some things that I don't need and I know the recipients would be happy to have them.  :highfive:

Plus I've already spent too much money on gifts so far this year.

Yes I have.  Some years it seems like I get a lot of the Mrs. Sees chocolates, so I have no qualms about re-gifting them.  I surely don't need the calories! HAHAHA LOL

Yes, regifting is not bad. I rather see someone else get use out of something I won't use. They might not like it and use it either and may regift it also! LOL!! Someone will get use out of what ever it is. If not then donate it! :)

Yes, I have. I hold on to the items for two or three years though. The ones that give me the ugly figurines and such randomly stop by and want to see where the gift is on the shelf. It wouldn't bother me as much if that was only done on their first visit after giving me the gift, but several times throughout the year is annoying.

I wouldn't be able to tell if someone regifted me but I have regifted to someone before.  I think I may have only done it once.

Yes, there was a time I did re-gifting. I gave an item I received from a Secret Santa, and gave it to someone else as a Secret Santa gift.

I periodically do this.   Why not?   If I'm not going to use it & can't exchange it, why not give it to someone who could use it.
