Good for you countrygirl, but you keep missing the point and I'm not going to waste time trying to explain simple concepts to you.  I bet you never went over the speed limit either huh?  FYI if you went over it a half mph you broke the law, should you get fined, hmmm?  Also people don't pay bills with cash they use checks or money orders or credit cards.  Every one can talk about something honest they did, so if someone actually offered you a reward you wouldn't take it?  YOU WOULD, don't expect us to believe otherwise. 8) :peace:

Any update? Yeah, as crummy as it sounds, I wouldn't have left it with the police either. It would be gone (money at least). Good for you for doing the right thing.

Just saw this thread now....how did it turn out?? It's nice to see people being nice - I lost my HS class ring a couple years ago and a fellow student found it and messaged me on FB so that we could connect...I was so grateful when he returned it!!!!

I found a checkbook a few years ago in the parking lot of my local dollar general and a couple of weeks ago I found a $20 bill in the parking lot of my local Zaxbys and needless to say that paid for me and my moms dinner.

UPDATE!!! The wallet was returned to the young boy and he said he does not use his Facebook account anymore because he is too busy with school. So he did not have his wallet stolen and he was not a drug lord. lol...My husband and son brought it to his house and he offered my husband $20 but he refused to take it. So then he offered it to my 8 yr old son and of course he took it...LOL! He was very grateful and also gave my husband a huge brand new bag of Lindt truffle chocolates. What 16 yr old boy do you know would do that? He was a very respectful young man and his parents raised a fine young man! I am so happy he got his wallet and money back but he was more concerned about losing his school ID. And I have a feeling he didn't want his parents to know...lol. So moral of the story is, be kind to others and others will be kind to you. :)

It is always a blessing to hear good stories about people who are returning things that do not belong to them... That is how the world should be.. I am happy for you that you got a chance to give the boy his wallet back.. He sure seemed appreciative.. Great Job! :highfive:

I'm glad you were able to find the owner of the wallet.  I think you must have been getting worried about it.

That is awesome and good for you.  Years ago my sister & I got robbed, one of the things taken was a very high end expensive stereo system my sister saved two years to buy, one night we happened to be on our way home & were a couple of blocks from our house.  We saw the florescent heart & initials on the stereo which was sitting on the hood of a cop car in front of a house.  Guess what?  When we called the next day the local police had no idea what we were talking about.  You did the right thing.
