I usually drink lemon tea, ginger tea, and Buckley's (a strong medicine that tastes like Vicks smells, bleh!) whenever I have a cold.

My mother gave us a teaspoon of warm honey.  When I became an adult I took warm honey and mixed in a little whiskey.  That worked too.

I definitely would recommend gargling with either salt water or hydrogen peroxide which clears up a sore throat nicely. Both methods taste nasty but work wonders! I know honey is also good for many ailments, including a sore throat. On that note, did you know that honey never expires!?

Yes I forgot about the salt water thing, I have a cold right now and I have been pounding the Vitamin c and liquids like they are going out of style.

Not doing too much for mine except extra vitamin C because I'm scared to take anything over the counter with all the heart meds I take.  I have a raw chest, coughing and sneezing as well but got rid of my sore throat.  Chicken soup and other hot liquids seem to help me.  Well here is hoping we both get well soon.
