Receipt Transcription Task
« on: January 08, 2015, 04:09:18 am »
What a waste of time! Don't even bother with this task!! Not worth the .05 cents!! I was working on it for over an hour trying to correct errors it though I had. Don't bother with it. It should be more than .05 cents for all those receipts.

Yea...those transcription tasks tend to be very tedious.  :-\

Well, I am certainly going to carry these wise words of advice with me the next time I look into the tasks site and avoid the Receipt Transcription Task section. Thanks for the heads-up!

Thanks kimber62372 for your feedback.  It's so nice to know ahead of time what other people think about a task.  I can identify with your frustration.  Once you've put so much time and effort into a task, you feel obligated to continue trying to correct errors (that you are convinced are not your fault) so that your hard work won't be in vain. I've had many tasks where I finally gave up.

I started this task thinking it would be quick and an easy way to make 1/2 credit but then saw the instructions and amount of work and didn't even start it

I'm not a big fan of those tasks. Too much work for me.

My crowdflower account was flagged so that's about the only one on my list. I can't even do the first one because it has no invoice number on it. I think I'll stick to surveys

I have done them in the past, but they paid more than 1/2 a cent! I don't bother with any that pay that low.

Yeah, I do not even waste my time on those because they are frustrating and pay very little. Thanks for posting the heads up about this task for everyone though.

They really lowball all those transcription tasks. It's pretty crazy. I'm thinking a lot of people did it because it was a higher payout before so they lowered it.

thanks for letting us know. there are some tasks out there that just wont give the right answer credit. even some penny ones you will spend to much time on them. like the hairpiece one.

speaking of the truth, I have not work on crowdflower a long time. Many times I don't agree with their answer no matter how hard I see and try, and it gives me a lot of stress to see my points go down.

If it's a CF task, they have many that are way too low "credit amounts" for what we are suppose to be doing.  Stick with the small menial tasks, they tend to be much easier and you can do many that add up faster.
